In the winter of 1970, the Perron family decided to live a quiet, orderly life. Roger and Caroline moved with their five daughters to a large, ten-bedroom home in Harrisville, Rhode Island.  This home, called Arnold Old Estate, was built in 1736 and was two hundred acres in size.

When the Perron family moved into the new home, they were given only one recommendation from the previous owners: "Keep the lights on at night for your familys sake! While the Perron family was confused, But they soon followed demand. A few days later, the girls noticed that a young boy was wandering around the house. Girls often found their belongings around the house. Caroline also noticed that someone was movined the broom around home. Sometimes the sound of broom was heard, pulling on the kitchen floor.

Gradually, the girls noticed the spirit in the house. A man with a wry smile appeared in the corner of the room, and watching the girls play.   They began to communicate with this spirit.   Roger and Caroline probably did not care what the girls say about the spirit. Soon another strange thing happened. Beds were sometimes a few inches from the ground. Sometimes the doors were closed and opened again, the frames often fell off the walls. Eight generations before, the Peruvian family lived in the Arnold estate;   And many of them were faced with ominous destinies.   In the late 18th century, Mrs. John Arnold hanged herself in a warehouse.   He was just one of many suicides that took place on this property.   Arnolds eleven-year-old daughter was raped and murdered by a mysterious man at home, While another of his relatives, Johnny, committed suicide by hanging himself in the attic. Over the next few years, several members of the family drowned in the creek. Late one night, the girls noticed another ghostly presence in their bedroom. One day a spirit began to torment Sandi, which has just eight-year-old,   He repeatedly whispered that dead soldiers were buried in the walls. André Perrone, who wrote a book about his familys experiences in the house, stated that it may have been the Bathsheba ghost who Annoying his family.

According to local legend, Bathsheba Thayer married Judson Sherman in the mid-1800s,  And later, they came to Arnolds estate to live.  Their first child died and Bathsheba was charged with murder.  This baby was found with his head in his arms and a sharp object.  The townspeople whispered that the murder was for the sake of the devil, and that Bathsheba had called the devil, to give him the sacrifice.  Bathsheba was arrested, but was released shortly because of lack of evidence. He spent the rest of his life at home;   Until the early twentieth century, she hung herself from a tree and dead.  It is said that after his death, his body had mysteriously turned into stone.

She was buried in a Baptist cemetery near her home, where her tombstone is still found.

The Conjuring film was made, based on the Perron family s experiences in that house. and It has a happy ending; Ed and Lauren successfully destroy Bathsheba and send her to hell. But unfortunately the truth was not so. Ed and Loren s efforts to clean the house seemed to be ineffective. And Roger, fearing for the safety of his family, demanded that he leave the house.
