Tbilisi in Georgia has long been known as the bride of Central Asian and Caucasian cities. In this article, we will present to you 10 fascinating places of our experience of traveling to Tbilisi.

Georgia is one of the countries in the Eurasian region The indigenous people of Georgia are Orthodox Christians and follow the Georgian Orthodox Church. They speak Georgian, which is also the official language of Georgia. Tbilisi has long been known as the bride of Central Asian and Caucasian cities. Unique parks and Mtkvari river that flows through the city of Tbilisi have created spectacular views of the city. There are lakes with capabilities swimming and rafting in Tbilisi, which Georgians call the sea because of their large size. The aqua park and most importantly the art sculptures have transformed the city into an open air museum. In this article, we will present to you 10 fascinating places of our experience of traveling to Tbilisi.

1.Visiting Tbilisi Old Town

The Old Town of Tbilisi, is our first choice. Old town is referred to as the historical district of Tbilisi, named for its architectural and historical significance. The Georgian government has tried to preserve this old part and exploit it for the tourism industry. The area is located by the Mtkvari River, and various castles, including Narikala Castle and Kartlis Deda, are sights in the area


2. Visit the Tbilisi cable car

The Tbilisi cable car opened in 2012 and connects Rike Park west of Mtkvari River to Narikala Castle. The city's 360-degree view from the top of the hill is also a delight. One of the spectacular attractions on the hill is the giant statues which called the mother of Tbilisi.

3.Visit Narikala Fortress

Narikala is an ancient fortress located opposite the old town and the Kura River, this old castle is another place to visit in Georgia. The castle consists of two large walls in which Tbilisi gardens are located. Sulfur baths are also located here.

4.Visit the Bridge of Peace

Earlier 2010, the Tbilisi City Council commissioned a prominent Italian designer to build a bridge to connect old and new parts of Tbilisi., and in May of that year, the official opening ceremony of the bridge over the Mtkvari River was held. The bridge was called the Bridge of Peace because of the peace between the Soviet Union and Georgia. On the roof of the 150-meter bridge, there are 1208 illuminated packages of 6040 LED lamps that create a beautiful night view and the french lighting designer named the project as "In Praise of Life and Peace."

5. The Holy Trinity Cathedral of Tbilisi


The Holy Trinity Cathedral of Tbilisi, commonly known as Sameba, which is the Georgian Orthodox Church in Tbilisi. The church was built between 1995 and 2004. It is the third highest church in the world and one of the largest churches in the world. The church reflects the Georgian architectural style to the world and has been a favourite of many tourists.

6.Visit Mtatsminda Park

Another place to visit in Tbilisi is Mtatsminda Park. Mtatsminda Park located at the top of Mount Mtatsminda is a combination of chain restaurants, Amusement Park and landmarks dating back to 1905. Funicular from the beginning of Chonkadze Street takes you to the top of Mount Mtatsminda.


7.Visit the National Museum of Georgia

The National Museum of Georgia comprises a mix of several museums throughout Georgia. The museum is built with a special architecture in which Georgian culture and civilization can be found. If you are into art and history, this museum is the right place for you. But first you come across ancient findings from the human skull. which collected from all over the world. 8.Cruise on the mtkvari river

Mtkvari is a beautiful river that separates the old and new part of Tbilisi. Boating in this river brings you beautiful and memorable sights. Along the river, you pass the Bridge of Peace, the Old Town and the Metekhi Church.

9.Metekhi Church

Another place to visit is the Metekhi Church, which also has the title of the first church built in the historic part of Tbilisi which is located beside the Mtkvari River. It is an Orthodox church built in the 5th century AD.   What is most interesting about this church is the particular type of architecture and form of the church that has made it so distinctive. Soviet Union used this church as a garrison, when they ruled Georgia. It has been used as a theater too. 10.Don't forget to eat traditional foods. One of the most important things to do when traveling to Tbilisi is to eat traditional cuisine. Because they are very tasty.
