What happened to Charlie Chaplin body?

Sir Charles Spencer Chaplin was a famous comedian, filmmaker and composer who became famous during the silent film era. Through his character, The Tramp, he became a global symbol and one of the most important figures in the history of the film industry. His career spanned more than 75 years from his childhood in Victoria to a year before his death. During this time he was both ridiculed and debated. Chaplin eventually died at his home on Lake Geneva, Switzerland, at Christmas 1977, and his fourth wife and eight children buried him in a quiet cemetery next to his home. He dedicated his life to comedy, but his afterlife was like a horror movie with a lost corpse.
