In this post we looking at a must beautiful and historical museum in iran which called Negarestan garden museum.....
In 1983, a Chinese-American architect was commissioned to build a glass pyramid for the Louvre. The inauguration of the pyramid in year 1989 caused many protests. Because people considered this pyramid evil In this article, we take a look at the story of this pyramid. We will also take a look at the Louvre Museum history.
Hello friends. My name is Omid, and I visited the Louvre in the fall 2019. That's why I did some research about the history of the museum, that you read below, and a video at the bottom of the article that you can watch: The Louvre is one of the largest museums in the world. Its facade reaches 3 kilometers. The museum is one of the richest museums in the world in terms of valuable artwork. The museum has exhibited 38,000 works of art. And holds more than 422,000 works of art. The museum has 2290 staff members. 1200 persons of these are security agents. The museum has 48 firefighters who are on standby around the clock.
In the distant past the Louvre was actually a palace. The Louvre Palace was built in the 12th century by Philip II as a fortress to protect the city from British troops. Francis I, demolished this 12th century castle to build a huge palace. Construction began in the mid 1500th century, but only part of the palace was completed. Then each of the French kings completed a part of the palace Louis XIV was the last king to use the Louvre as a royal residence. He transferred his court to the Versailles Palace in year 1682. The Central Museum of Art (Musée Central des Arts) was opened to the public at the Grande Galerie during the French Revolution. Napoleon Bonaparte and Napoleon III added parts to the Louvre to increase their credibility. It was not used as a museum until year 1993, after this year, the whole building was used as a museum for the first time.
But in front of the museum is a glass pyramid that attracts much attention. In 1983, the French president(François Mitterrand) ordered the construction of a glass pyramid for the Louvre, wich designed and built by a Chinese-American architect, I.M. Pei. The inauguration of the pyramid in the 1989 was met with protests because people believed it was an evil pyramid, and an insult to the sacred, and its pattern is of Egyptian pyramids. And it not similar the architecture of the museum. However, he told at the public that this pyramid had nothing to do with the old stone pyramids and he designed it with the inspiration of a scaffolding near the Jardin des Tuilleries. But the design angles of this pyramid are the same as those used in constructing the Great Pyramid of Giza. According to Pei, he wanted to build the pyramid so that it could be merged with its surroundings so that it would be almost invisible except at close range, but he did not succeed.
Until a French artist named JR, at the request of the Louvre directors; Implemented the idea of invisible the pyramid with the utmost skill for a full month. In implementing this idea, if one stands at a particular angle of the pyramid's surroundings, he does not see it. But from other angles, the pyramid appears with a large image of the Louvre. It is interesting to know that a design competition was run between architects to select the architect, but in fact it was not a formal ceremony, and it is said that the French president had chosen Pei as an architect. This was revealed after the end of his presidency.
But who is Pei? Pei is an award-winning and internationally renowned Pritzker Award-winning architect whose works include the JFK Presidential Library and Museum in Boston and the Bank of China in Hong Kong. Exactly 666 pieces of glass were used in the construction of the pyramid. In fact, this is an official statistic released at the time of construction of the pyramid. But now, officials say, 673 glasses have been used.
Many may find the book Da Vinci Code to be the brainchild of Dan Brown, but the truth is that he has addressed some of the issues. One of them points to the French President's strange desire to have a 666-piece glass pyramid in front of the world's most famous museum.(Da vinci code Page 18. Line 1-3) But below this pyramid is two small pyramid. One of them is perpendicular to the down toward the smaller pyramid. Its very amazing and beautiful, but does it have any special meaning? Dan Brown writes in The Da Vinci Code Book, that below this triangle is the tomb of Mary Magdalene. It is clear that Mary Magdalene to have spent the last years of her life in France, but there is no credible evidence that her tomb is in Louvre.
